The India International Travel Mart exhibition of travel, tourism, hospitality and leisure exhibited destinations from various parts of the country, spanning over spheres such as pilgrimages, adventure, culture and heritage, in a bid to provide an ideal marketing opportunity to the participants.
The three-day exhibition was inaugurated by Mohamed Hatimi Bin Abas, Consulate General of Malaysia, Mumbai and mayor Mohansingh Rajpal on Saturday.
The event had 200 participants from over 10 countries. The participants included Travel agents & Tour Operators, Destination Management Companies, Hotels and Resorts, Cruises, Airlines and Online Travel Portals, among others. Organisations and tourism boards from over 15 Indian states also participated.
Some international participants this year included tourism stakeholders such as Dubai Tourism, Nepal Tourism Board, Indonesia Tourism, Switzerland Tourism, Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Authority of Thailand and Orient Tours - Sharjah.
The exhibition had stalls from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand marketing their products, while more than 100 hotels and resorts also participated in this event.
The exhibition, organised by Sphere Travelmedia and Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd, was held at Deccan Grounds, Yerawada, from 26th to 28th November.
