IAAI demands commission at 5 percent from JetLite starting March 5, 2010, from others beginning December 1, 2010

Also, citing the High Court of Kerala, Oct 14 directive to the DGCA to rule within 2 months, the association has also asked all budget airlines plying the air space in India to start paying commission at 5% on gross fare within a month's notice i.e. wef December 1, 2010.

According to the resolution passed by IAAI at its AGM recently, the association has demanded 5 per cent commission on gross fare from JetLite with effect from March 5, 2010, which is the date of DGCA order clarifying Aircraft Rule 135. The resolution says that JetLite is owned by Jet Airways which pays commission to travel agents as per Aircraft Rule # 135 of the Indian aircraft Act 1934 and both are IATA BSP carriers channeling receipts and payments through BSP.
