The city Corporation authorities have said that stringent action, including closure, will be initiated against hotels and eateries in the city that fail to comply with sanitation and food safety standards even after being issued notices.
In a statement released here on Wednesday, Corporation Secretary E. Devadasan and health officer D. Sreekumar said that hotels and restaurants that had been issued notice following inspections conducted by the Corporation health squads should take steps to rectify the defects pointed out by the squads.
On Wednesday, four squads of Corporation health inspectors conducted inspections at hotels in the city as per a report in the Hindu.
Out of the six hotels raided in Nanthencode circle, notice was issued to Hotel Ananthapuri (Kesavadasapuram), Hotel Sanju (Marappalam), Aryajyothi (LIC Pattom) and MGM restaurant.
