The flight service from Mumbai have been disturbed due to heavy rain as many flights were delayed. Air and rail traffic at Mumbai was hit yesterday as the landing of two flights at the Mumbai international airport had to be delayed due to poor visibility and trains were running late by 15-20 minutes, officials said. Flight operations at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) were partially affected due to persistent rain.
Four days of heavy downpour has hit the lifeline of Mumbai the local trains. Tens of thousands of passengers had a harrowing time getting to office Monday morning as service at most stations was suspended due to flooding on the tracks, officials said.
All Central Railway suburban train services were hit between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus-Thane and beyond Karjat (Raigad) where a portion of the track was washed away Sunday. Similarly, the Harbor Line service was suspended between VT and Mankhurd and was being operated only between Panvel and Mankhurd, an official spokesperson said. Delays also marred the services on Western Railway (WR) on account of incessant heavy rains which have being lashing the city and other parts of the state since last week.
According to a CR spokesperson, the following trains were cancelled: 12127 Mumbai-Pune Intercity Express, 11007 Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express, 12123 Mumbai-Pune Deccan Queen, 12125 Mumbai-Pune Pragati Express, 11009 Mumbai-Pune Sinhagad Express, 12109 Mumbai-Manmad Panchavati Express, 12169 Pune-Solapur Express and 12170 Solapur-Pune Express.
