Already set to add an additional 5,000 MW of power in the state, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said he was ready for joining hands with Himachal Pradesh in hydro-power and tourism sectors, but wanted the neighbouring state also to take some initiatives. As per a report in Indian Express, Hooda clarified that he had never opposed special industrial incentives for Himachal Pradesh, rather had been demanding similar incentives for backward and hilly areas of Mewat and Morni hills.
The chief minister, who was in the town to inaugurate newly-renovated Benmore circuit House, a Haryana government ‘s heritage property, which also had remained official residence of his father Ranbir Singh claimed that there was industrial dislocation from Haryana to Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand because of the central package. This was the reason for his demanding same incentives to the industry in his state, especially areas of Morni Hills and Mewat.
