Haryana Tourism has set up nearly 60 Swiss tents at Dundahera near Delhi-Gurgaon toll plaza on Expressway and Surajkund in Faridabad. According to a report, an official from the state tourism department mentioned that this is a pilot project ahead of the Commonwealth Games 2010, to be held from October 3-14 in the capital. The state tourism department has created the infrastructure and has consequently leased it out to private players to install tents and manage it.

Dhanchiri Camp at Dundahera has been leased out to private players till February 2011 and the lease for Surajkund Camp will end by this year end. Almost all the double-bed tents are air-conditioned with attached toilet and bathrooms. Each tent has a dressing table, one central table and chairs. The idea behind putting these tents is to provide the best facility to people who want to get a day's break from work and spend time in natural surroundings. There will be an air-conditioned dinning hall and bar too. Every evening, each venue will host cultural programmes. Since these are first-of-its-kind tents in the entire NCR, the state tourism department is not taking any chances. If they receive enough clients, either the lease would be extended or managed by them.
