Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC) on Thursday signed a MoU to help promote tourism in the state by offering facilities to tourists at IOC petrol pumps.

Tourists will not have to go far for information on various destinations and for basic amenities. The large network of IOCL petrol pumps will be equipped to cater to these facilities.

This is the first instance in the country wherein such an agreement has been entered into to promote tourism, TGCL said in a statement here on Thursday.

As part of this agreement, TCGL will acquire land in the areas of IOC and create basic amenities such as toilets, food courts, kiosks etc. These facilities will be created in select areas and on national highways where IOC has its presence. These facilities will be managed by third parties.
