The Gujarat Government has announced that it would set up India's first world-class Maritime Park at Dahej, which is about 100 kms away from Vadodara.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said,"Gujarat has 1,600 km long coastline and there is a good potential for the development of ship building, breaking, deep sea vessels and other activities connected with shipping industry. So it has been decided to give priority to develop a Maritime Park here (at Dahej)".
