The sixth Great Indian Travel Bazaar '13 (GITB), an international tourism mart, will be organized from April 14-16, 2013 at BM Birla Convention Centre, Jaipur.
"The mart has received tremendous response, particularly foreign tour operators (FTOs) have shown great interest. Growing from strength to strength, the mart this year would host about 270 companies and the figure on pre-fixed B2B (business to business) meetings is also likely to exceed 9,000 that was conducted previous year," said Gyan Prakash, director FICCI-Rajasthan. Compared to previous year, about six to eight more countries would be participating this time. This would in a big way open newer avenues for the properties in Rajasthan, he said.
GITB began in 2008 with 160 buyers from 35 countries with over 2,000 pre-fixed meetings. By 2011, the mart had grown to 230 buyers (FTOs) from 55 countries with over 7,000 pre-fixed B2B meetings.
"The focus this year would be more on buyers. And moving beyond the regular participation, this year, about 70-80% of the FTOs' are from newer regions like Ukraine, China, Japan, Far East and Russia," said Khalid Khan past president, Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators (RATO).
