Great Indian Travel Bazaar 2011 got off to a somber start here yesterday with its inauguration at Sisodia Rani ka Bagh, shorn off all the formal speeches by State & Union Ministers and officials and cultural festivities, with the Rajasthan Government declaring State’s mourning at the passing away Maharaja Bhawani Singh of Jaipur.

GITB 2011 paid glowing tributes to the late Maharaja Bhawani Singh who was the symbol of dignity and courtesy and one who was synonymous with the highest tradition of India’s rich cultural heritage.

GITB, an initiative of FICCI, aims at establishing an international platform to stimulate and promote inbound tourism to India. “The objective of the travel bazaar is to raise inbound tourists arrival from the present level of 5 million to 10 million in the next 5 years said Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson, The Lalit Group & FICCI Tourism Committee.
