The main attraction of Surajkund is the five hot springs that attract a huge crowd who offers puja after taking bath. The difference that is an advantage too between the hot spring in Barkatha and famous Rajgir hot spring is that the water in Surajkund is much cleaner and hotter than Rajput. As per the local people is that the temperature of the spring is so hot one can cook rice and dal in minutes.

The minister said that about six years ago, chief minister Arjun Munda launched a development project for Surajkund by sanctioning Rs 4.68 crore for construction of roads, guesthouse, modern cafetaria, tourist cottages and creating shades near the hot spring and maintenance thereafter.
