The Union government plans to infuse Rs 5,000 crore along Indian’s coast line as part of a mega tourism project said Union minister for Corporate Affairs and Power M Veerappa Moily
He said the Union government will initially release Rs 50 crore to each state.
He said directions had been issued to state governments to come up with blue prints for investments, and also to look into issues pertaining to the coastal regulatory zone (CRZ) rules.
Karnataka’s government was asked to send a report on possibilities of tourism ventures in between Karwar and Ullal. Moily has also asked Udupi district administration to send proposals of tourism projects in the region.
