With the Sunburn music festival only a week away, the Goa government is still unsure about allowing the event at Candolim in north Goa, state Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said Friday. Speaking to reporters,Parulekar said the government was keen on shifting the festival, billed by the organisers as Asia's biggest, to south Goa.

"We cannot have it in north Goa. It becomes too crowded. The organisers should shift it to south Goa. We have asked them to move," Parulekar said. "There are many complaints that the festival gives rise to traffic congestion and chaos. That is why we want it to shift to the south because it has fewer tourists," Parulekar added.

The three-day festival is organised at Candolim, which is a part of the most popular beach stretch from Baga to Sinquerim and sees the biggest volume of the 2.6 million tourists who visit Goa each year. Sunburn is one of India's biggest electronic dance music festivals.
