Goa Tourism Minister Halarnkar met Union Tourism Minister Sahay in Delh,i along with tourism secretary D C Sahoo and tourism director Swapnil Naik where he insisted that since Goa is celebrating the Golden Jubilee of its liberation, the central government should sanction more tourism projects for the state as per a report in the TOI.
Halarnkar requested the Union minister that eco-friendly hotels should be allowed in Goa with some government subsidy to private parties who have more than 500 acres of land for that purpose. Since Goa is a hot tourism destination, Halarnkar said that these eco-friendly hotels with traditional healthcare facilities including ayurvedic massages, would attract more tourists to the state.
Halarnkar also asked for sanction to build marinas in Goa on a public-private-partnership basis.
