Goa Tourism is organizing celebrations on the occasion of ‘World Tourism Day’ (September 27) at INOX courtyard, Campal, Panjim from September 27-28, 2013. The event will highlight the role of tourism in creating awareness on water conservation, which is the global theme this year.
The festival will be inaugurated by Hon. Tourism Minister of Goa, Shri. Dilip Parulekar, in the presence of Hon. Chairman of Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), Shri. Nilesh Cabral and other senior Goa Tourism officials.
Shri. Parulekar said that this event will be a unique opportunity to examine and create awareness on water conservation. This will not only be in sync with the theme of this year as announced by United Nations World Tourism Organization but will also highlight proper usage of water for the benefit of all.
Mr. Nilesh Cabral, Hon. Chairman, GTDC said, “The theme will be based on conserving water and protecting our future to ensure that the coming generation also enjoys this gift of nature. Water sustains our environment, heritage and livelihood. Let us resolve to conserve water and ensure sustainable growth of tourism, a vibrant, green and prosperous Goa!”
