Goa tourism launched a Goa app-the official Goa mobile app which has a multi-lingual feature to cater to non-English speaking tourists, will provide people with information about demography, boarding and lodging, travel fairs, must-see places, etc, on their smart phones.
The application will provide information in Hindi, Russian and German and also has a feature which allows a user to learn various Konkani phrases. This will be upgraded to an audio playback feature soon.
Tourism minister Dilip Parulekar, along with chairman of the Goa tourism development corporation Ltd Nilesh Cabral and tourism department director Nikhil Desai launched the Goa app on Wednesday.
Parulekar said that this application can help promote Goa as a destination for health care, dental and cosmetic procedures and also promote the hinterlands of Goa, which are not on the main tourist map.
