Goa Govt. takes several initatives for Tourism Development

The beaches of Goa, being the main assets for the promotion of tourism, the Department of Tourism will ensure that the existing facilities on the beaches are not only maintained but also improved, wherever necessary.

The Government has accepted the offer of M/s. Leading Hotels Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, for setting up of Golf Course and Allied Services at Terekhol in Pernem Taluka in north Goa under PPP project for which the letter of intent has already been issued.

The Government of India has approved setting up of Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology at Farmagudi, under a society, and an amount of Rs 1200.00 lakh has been sanctioned. The project will come up in an area admeasuring 40,000 sq. mts. near Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi. It will be the second institute of Hotel Management in the State.

Similarly, a proposal of Tourism Infrastructure Development of Colva Circuit, South Goa, has been approved by Government of India, Ministry of Tourism. They have sanctioned an amount of Rs 758.07 lakh.
