Its celebration time for the People in Pune as India's youngest, yet fastest growing low-fare domestic airline adds Pune to its network. GoAir with the addition of its 10th Airbus A320 will start its operations in Pune from 02nd October, 2010. GoAir last month added Patna and now announces spread of operations in Pune, Leh and Lucknow. This move comes as part of GoAir's growth strategy which will strengthen its existing network by flying to 19 destinations and having more than 1162 weekly flights.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kaushik Khona, CEO, GoAir said, "We at GoAir have always tried to reach out to cities that have huge growth potential and provide travel convenience. The rapid expansion of our route network has resulted in an unprecedented rate of growth and today, GoAir serves 19 cities and operates 78 direct flights a day. Along with Pune, we are starting our services to Lucknow and Leh and inducting our 10th Aircraft. Our vision is to provide convenience and better travel facilities to the travelers."
Pune is the seventh largest metropolis in India and the second largest in the state of Maharashtra. The city is the 'veritable heartland' of cultural Maharashtra and has also made its mark the educational epicenter of the country, winning itself the sobriquet, 'The Oxford of the East'.
