In the first six months of the year Germany has recorded an increase of 17% in visitors overnights, witnessing 1,73, 515 Indian tourist arrivals to Germany as per the latest statistics (Jan-April 2012 in comparison to the same period in 2011).

The latest statistics signify that Germany has emerged as the most desirable destination amongst other European holiday options. One of the most important reasons for the resonance of this interest is our constant focus on promoting Germany through the Affordable Hospitality Campaign for the Indian travellers.

Affordable hospitality is one of the main themes over the past few years; by this we mean that hotels, attractions and cuisine are far more affordable in Germany than in other parts of Europe. As we say “double the fun and half the price”.

Germany has hotel rooms in almost every price bracket ranging from inexpensive accommodation in small hotels, rooms in mid-range hotels to luxury suites. Some hotels are housed in ancient castles and palaces. A good four star hotel in Berlin for example start at 80 Euros. Theme parks are far more affordable in Germany and are renowned world over for the entertainment they provide. Even the highest mountain peak the “Zugspitze” offers a wonderful value for money experience.

Infrastructure in Germany is also geared to welcome the avid traveller from India from FIT travellers to incentive groups of over 5000 people.

Places in Germany which are popular among Indians are Munich, Garmisch, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and its surroundings, Cologne, Hannover, Hamburg and of course the Black Forest highlands. Berlin and the state of Saxony are upcoming destinations for the Indian traveller with more and more people choosing these cities for their vibrant appeal.
Germany has also increased airline options now such as gulf carriers flying to places like Stuttgart and Frankfurt.
