Goa Pradesh Congress Committee ( GPCC) urged the government to crackdown on unqualified doctors involved in medical tourism, stating that it will dent the state's image.

Speaking to media persons, GPPC working president and south Goa MP Francisco Sardinha said we are promoting medical tourism in Goa and we have seen of late many unqualified doctors taking advantage of the situation as per a TOI report.

He said that the state government should conduct a survey to find out how many doctors are involved in this unethical practice.

"I would like to request Goa government, especially the health ministry to maintain a proper vigil to ensure that good and qualified doctors and dentists are practicing under the banner of medical tourism", Sardinha added.
