The German National Tourist Office ‘India Pool” continues its aggressive plans topromote Germany as a preferred leisure destination for Indians.The encouraging increase in the visitor overnights in Germany from India prove an added impetus in these efforts.

Visitor Overnights have grown by other 26.1% in the period Jan-Nov 2010 as against the corresponding period in 2009.To enhance Destination Germany’s presence in India the Germany India pool continues to conduct road-shows in various metros across India.

During the current visit to Chennai and New Delhi, the delegation will showcase the latest updates, highlights andattraction for Indian travelers. The delegation will run destination training for the travel trade in both cities as well as make personal calls to select travel agents and tour operator offices. This would enable the tour operator to better understand the destination.

Romit Theophilus, Director Marketing and Sales, The German National Tourist Office, India (GNTO) said that “The marketing and promotional efforts made by the Germany India Pool and GNTO in the past few years are showing constructive results. Furthermore the India Pool initiative has been a major contributor to the increased destination awareness created inthe Indian market. He added that activities such as workshops,media and trade study trips and corporate presentations will continue in the current year to further consolidate the gains.
