GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd has launched the Asia Pacific Flight Training (APFT) academy.
It is packed with a highly advanced facility imparting pilot training and ground training with quality infrastructure. This initiative is in technical collaboration with Asia Pacific Flight Training Sdn Bhd, Malaysia, one of the biggest flight training schools in the world.
Located adjacent to an international airport, the academy will offer hands-on experience, seamless expertise of operations in an international airport, and access to top class amenities and technology.
The first flight training course is planned to commence in July. The school will offer a wide range of courses, including the flagship Commercial Pilot License Programme spanning one-and-half years, and other major courses such as Private Pilot License, Flight Instructors, Instrument Rating and Multi Engine Rating.
The training programme conforms to international standards and regulations with pilots’ licences awarded by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
The aviation industry in India is evolving to becoming a significant contributor to the nation. With a surging industry having multiple airlines and aviation players, the industry faces a severe shortage of trained and quality manpower.
SGK Kishore, CEO of GHIAL, said: “The India’s aviation industry requires a large number of trained manpower. The airport’s vibrant ecosystem comprises a world-class international airport, upcoming aerospace business, aviation-based free trade zone and MRO facilities. Trainees will benefit from such an integrated ecosystem.’’
