Four new flights will take off from the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun within a fortnight. Direct flights to Hyderabad and Ahmedabad will also commence from Dehradun shortly. Director, Jolly Grant Airport, Vinod Sharma, said that four new flights to Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Delhi and Bengaluru are set to be launched by SpiceJet and Indigo.
“While the direct flight to Ahmedabad will start from October 31, the direct flight to Hyderabad will start on November 15. An additional flight to Bengaluru is scheduled to start from November 15,” said Sharma. He added that Dehradun already has a direct flight to Bengaluru which runs only on Sundays. The new flight will be operational on Wednesday.
An additional flight to Delhi us also in the pipeline, Sharma said. Airport officials said that many tourists visit Uttarakhand and having direct flights and connecting flights to multiple cities would boost connectivity to the Himalayan state.
