Passengers flying out of Delhi in the new year could get a relief from the steep user charges levied at IGI Airport.Airport development fee (ADF) of Rs 200 and Rs 1,300 imposed on domestic and international flyers,respectively,could be halved to Rs 100 and Rs 600.

There is a rider though passengers will be paying the lower fee till April 2016,while the earlier fee was to be discontinued in February 2014. The fee cut has been proposed as a compromise move by the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) after aviation minister Ajit Singhs October 16 diktat to the Delhi and Mumbai airports to stop charging ADF from January 1 was not heeded by the public-private partnership airports.
