Five Indian Air Force members, including two women, successfully scaled 8848-metre-high world's tallest peak Mt Everest from southern side.
The IAF team of Sqn Ldr Nirupama Pandey, 32, Flt Lt Rajika Sharma, 28, Sqn Ldr Devidutta Panda, 34, Sgt Jashi Dinghj, 38 and Ganesh Singh Pokhariya, 23 accompanied by six high-altitude Nepali Sherpa guides stood on the 8,848-metre peak between 10-11 am yesterday, officials said.
However, Group Captain Narendra K Dahiya, leader of the team, could not make the final attempt.
