After operating flights between Kolkata and Jamshedpur for 10 months, Bangalore based non-schedule airline company Door To Door Service (DTDS) Travel and Tour Planner Private Limited is set to connect another small destination to Kolkata.
The airline will start flight services between Kolkata and Purnea, Bihar, from November 6. According to the officials, the airline would operate two flights between Kolkata and Purnea per week. The flights would be operated on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The airline plans to operate a 9-seater Cessna grand caravan aircraft. On Tuesdays the flight will leave Kolkata at 11 am and reach Purnea at 12.30 pm. The return flight would leave Purnea at 3.30pm and reach Kolkata at 5 pm.
The timing of the flight between these two destinations will be different on Saturdays. On these days the flight will leave Kolkata at 8am and reach Purnea at 9.30am to leave Purnea at 12.20pm and reach Kolkata at 1.50pm. With the commencement of this flight service between Kolkata and Purnea, a part of North Bengal will be connected also.
This is the nearest airfield Raigunj in North Dinajpur district and so people could also take a flight and go there as well informed Shyamal Chakraborty, Manager sales of DTDS Travel and Tour Planner Private Limited. The bookings have opened from October 27.
The ticket price for one-way trip is R3,995 and passengers can book their tickets either through authorised distribution agents of the airline or through the airline’s website said a statement issued by the airline.
