A herbal park and eco tourism centre named after former prime minister late Rajiv Gandhi will soon come up in Haryana.
"The Rs 2.07 crore herbal park-cum-eco tourism centre will come up at Masani Barrage in Rewari district's Dharuhera area," Forest minister Ajay Singh Yadav said here today.
It would be named after Rajiv Gandhi as he had a great vision and love for biodiversity and nature, he said.
Located at a distance of about 50 km from IGI airport in New Delhi, the park - set up over an area of 45 acres of land - would be made functional within a period of two years.
It would have log huts, camping sites, tree houses, information centre, ayurveda and yoga centres, water bodies, children park, waterfalls and rare and endangered medicinal plants' park.
"The park would go a long way in the development of eco- tourism in Haryana and also help in creating awareness about the conservation needs of desert's flora and fauna besides improving the socio-economic conditions of the people," Yadav said.
