Dubai Cruise Terminal, operated by global marine terminal operator DP World, and managed by Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), has been voted the Middle East's Leading Cruise Port for a fourth consecutive year at the World Travel Awards 2011.

The prestigious award was received on behalf of DP World by Tariq Bin Khalifa, Director, Account Management, DP World, UAE Region, at a red-carpet ceremony held at the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa on 2nd May 2011. The event was attended by hundreds of top executives and professionals of the travel and leisure industry.

Mr. Carl Vaz, Director – India commented, “The Dubai cruise terminal has yet again proved to be the finest in its category.  Being the only cruise terminal in the world operated by a government department of tourism, it has managed to provide an enhanced experience to visitors. We at DTCM India have started aggressively targeting this sector and have begun initiatives to conduct joint promotional activities with key travel trade members who promote Dubai for cruises.”

Spread over 3,300 sq m at Port Rashid and with a capacity to handle two ocean-going cruise vessels simultaneously, Dubai Cruise Terminal has state-of-the-art facilities that have made it one of the most tourist-friendly ports of call.

Dubai Cruise Terminal has also won the World's Leading Cruise Port award three consecutive times from the World Travel Awards between 2008 and 2010. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
