Team India skipper Mahindra Singh Dhoni may soon become the brand ambassador of Jharkhand's Save Tiger Project as per a PTI report.

"We want to rope in the skipper in this noble cause. If the Team India captain joins this campaign it will have a tremendous impact. But right now we are awaiting for his approval," said Mukesh Kumar Verma, deputy secretary of the state forest department.

The Uttarakhand government has already appointed Dhoni brand ambassador of the Save Tiger Project.

The department has drafted a proposal following the initiative of Principal Secretary A K Sarkar which has been sent for the approval of Minister Sudesh Kumar Mahto.

Nearly 200 tigers were killed by poachers in and around various forest reserves in the country in the last 12 years, news that point out the danger that the national animal faces in its habitat.
