The hosts of Hotel Investment Forum India (HIFI) have announced the winners of the Deal of the Year awards (hotels opened November 2011 - October 2012) in the categories of Budget and Mid-Priced Scale, First Class and Upper Mid-Scale, and Luxury and Upscale. The awards were presented at Hotel Investment Forum India (HIFI) on 15 January 2013, at the Leela Kempinski Gurgaon Delhi (N.C.R.), India. HIFI is hosted by Burba Hotel Network (BHN) and Horwath HTL.
In the category of Budget and Mid-Priced Scale, the winner is Novotel-Ibis Bengaluru Techpark, with a total of 547 keys, developed at a total cost of Rs 3,084 mn (at a cost per room of Rs 4.41 mn excluding cost of land and IDC). The Novotel-Ibis Bengaluru Techpark is owned by Techpark Hotels (InterGlobe Enterprises, Accor, Pacifica Partners) and operated by Accor. Nominees in this category also included aLoft Chandigarh, Hampton by Hilton Vadodara - Alkapuri, and Holiday Inn Express Ahmedabad.
In the category of First Class and Upper Mid-Scale, the winner is DoubleTree by Hilton Gurgaon, with 184 keys, developed at a cost per room of Rs 7.17 mn excluding cost of land and IDC. The DoubleTree by Hilton Gurgaon is owned by Balprada Hotels & Hospitality (JMD Limited) and operated by Hilton Worldwide. Nominees in this category also included Regenta One Hyderabad and Vivanta by Taj Surya, Coimbatore.
In the category of Luxury and Upscale, the winner is ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, with 600 keys, and developed at a total cost of Rs 10,200 mn (at a cost per room of Rs 15.33mn excluding cost of land and IDC). The ITC Grand Chola, Chennai is owned and operated by ITC Limited. Nominees in this category also included the Fairmont Jaipur and the Park Hyatt Hyderabad.
