Dakshina Kannada receives a Rs. 11 Crore boost for developing tourism infrastructure

The Karnataka government has released Rs 10.95 crore to develop 36 projects in Dakshina Kannada district. 

Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo directed officials to take up the ropeway project expeditiously and said that he had discussed with PWD and tourism ministers to release the grants soon. 

Regarding the expenditure, Lobo said of the Rs 10.95 crore released a sum of Rs 73.25 lakh is being used for development of tourist facilities at Panambur, Rs 76.80 lakh for Tannir Bavi, Rs 76.80 lakh for Ullal and Someshwar beaches, Rs 1 crore for the ropeway and Rs 2 crore for Yatri Nivas at Venoor. Also, a sum of Rs 45 lakh and Rs 75 lakh for development of tourist facilities at Kadri and Kukke Subrahmanya temple will be spent, said Tourism Deputy Director Ajith Jithendranath. Of the 36 projects, 14 were complete and 12 were yet to start.
