Daiwik Hotels Private Limited is debuting with a unique concept of specialty pilgrimage hospitality in India with the launch of its first property in Rameswaram. The four star property, Daiwik Hotels Rameswaram, marks the first organised hospitality venture in the Southern region.
In an attempt at retracing the religious history of the Ramanathapuram district, the hotel has launched ‘In the Footsteps of Lord Rama’, a tour package for exploring the sacred locations around the province. The authenticity of this programme is verified by Daiwik Hotels’ onboard content specialist Ms. Subhadra Sengupta, a historian and author on Indian pilgrimages.
The journey rediscovers the 13 sacred locations visited by Lord Rama just before the conquest of Lanka as depicted in the verses of Valmiki’s Ramayana which scholars believe took place 7000 years ago. The tour addresses not just the devotees but individuals like historians, researchers, spiritual organizations as well as tourists from South East Asian countries like Thailand and Indonesia who are familiar with the epic. Priced at INR 22,500 for 2 pax, it is a 3 nights/3 day’s package.
The tour covers revered temples where pilgrims have worshipped for centuries and facilitates the devotees to achieve a deeply spiritual experience. It elaborates the significance of each location in connection with the Ramayana and even covers the lesser known places.
The visits will include trips to Shiva Temple, Teerthandadhanam; Tapnashan Vinayak Temple, Uppur; Navagraha Tank, Devipattinam; Setu Cheddukarai; Thirupullani Darbhasayanam Temple; Uthirakosamangai Temple (optional); Ekantha Rama Temple; Viloondi Teertham in the first two days. The third day of the journey begins with an early morning darshan at Ramanathaswamy Temple; followed by journey to Gandhamadan Parvatam Temple; Sakshi Hanuman Temple; Rama Teertham; Rama Temple; Sita Theertham; Lakshmana Theertham; Panchamukha Hanuman Temple; Floating Stone; Jata Teertham, Kodandarama Temple, and Dhanushkodi.
