Aviation regulator the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will conduct a "safety review" of the Boeing Dreamliner aircraft purchased by Air India (AI) after two of Japan's biggest airlines decided to ground their Boeing 787 fleet.

The premium Dreamliner aircraft has suffered a series of glitches that have prompted investigations by aviation regulators although Boeing insists the plane is safe.
