The very first festival of Czech Cuisine in India is being organized by CzechTourism in India in cooperation with the Hotel Lalit New Delhi and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in India.
Award winning chefs from the National Team of the Czech Chefs Association will be flown to New Delhi to prepare traditional Czech dishes. Chef Jan Horký, from the Golden Prague Restaurant in the Hotel InterContinental and Chef Marek Svoboda from Gastro Studio will be preparing their Czech culinary specialties from 11th to 16th of October in 24/4 restaurant in hotel Lalit New Delhi. This imitative, which follows a successful Czech Design and Fashion Show organized in India in May 2011, is yet another unique opportunity to savour more of the Czech Republic.
It seems that nowadays every country’s traditional mother-to-child handed down recipes have been elevated into gourmet cuisine and the Czech Republic is not only getting on the epicurean carousel but is in fact grabbing for the gold ring of culinary delights. In the past, Czech cuisine was thought of as being high in calories and low in finesse but things have definitely changed. The Czech Republic is justifiably proud of its new culinary image, which you can taste and experience on the upcoming Czech Food Festival.
But the festival is not going to be only about the Czech Food but also about the famous Czech Beer presenting brands like Budweiser, Pilsner Urquell or Staropramen, and Czech wines and other typical products from pastries, cheeses and many others. The event will be complemented by special performance of the Czech Folklore Music and visitors will get a chance to win some attractive Czech Prizes. You can gear up for the mega prize offered by a partner organization of the festival SOTC that will take you to the Czech Republic’s capital, Prague.
“I would like Indians to know how diverse Czech cuisine is, just like the country itself. Czech Republic is very well known for its cultural heritage and Prague of course is one of the most visited place in our country. But we would like to show as well new modern aspects such as cuisine, fashion and lifestyle to Indian public and to make them aware of the variety our country can offer.” said Radka Neumannova, director of the CzechTourism in India.
