With the burgeoning Indian outbound market constantly looking for new travel ideas and experiences, Cruise Club today launched an unprecedented range of more than 40 cruises, giving access to over 2000 ports of call –resulting in wider choice to Indian consumers.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Tarique Hussain, Founder – Cruise Club, said “Today, while the Indian market is growing, and more and more people are cruising from India, thereis still limited knowledge about cruising amongst Indians. The market is also quite nascent, with just about 90,000 cruise passengers last year. Cruise Club intends to develop cruising as a concept in the Indian market.”

According to estimates, currently only 0.05% of the 3.5 billion people in the Asia-Pacific region go on cruises, versus 3.2% of 330 million people in North America and 1% of 500 million people in Europe. With the development of better cruise infrastructure in theregion, increasing numbers of cruise liners are calling on Asia – resulting in easier access to a wider range of cruises for Indian guests.

The market is expected to expand with rapid double digit growth in the coming years. Mr. Hussain noted, “This growth presents a wonderful opportunity for Indian cruisers, with a wider range of cruise options. However, the awareness beyond mass cruise liners is quite limited in the Indian market. Cruise Club intends to grow awareness especially in the premium and luxury cruising sector. We also intend to leverage our fantastic relationships with cruise liners worldwide to bring great rates and special deals for ourclients.”

Cruise Club has also launched a very innovative website, www.cruiseclub.in,incorporating lots of painstaking research. The Google Maps-based interactive system allows users to toggle between ports and learn more about the destinations.
