Italian luxury cruise operator Costa Cruises today said it expects a fivefold jump in tour registrations from the country in the next calendar year.

"We expect 10,000 passengers in 2013 as we are launching dedicated India-centric products," its Sales and Marketing head Alessandro Bottaro told reporters here.

He added that as the affluence is growing here, India is a market with lots of growth opportunities for the company.

The company's sales agent in the country, Nalini Gupta said it registered 1,000 bookings from India in 2010, which grew to 2,000 this year and will grow at a faster pace now.

Bottaro said the company is also planning to establish its own presence here and will be opening a representative office by October.
