Code of Safe and Honourable Tourism set to become a mandatory registration requirement for the travel trade with MOT

The Ministry of Tourism had unveiled the said code of conduct in line with similar code of ethics for tourism being propagated by the world bodies like UNWTO on 1 July 2010.

The stakeholders at the First National Workshop on Safe and Honourable Tourism unanimously agreed on July 23 that the provisions of the code as applicable for various service providers be made mandatory and incorporated in the Ministry of Tourism’s guidelines for approval of travel agencies, tour operators, transport operators, adventure tour operators, domestic tour operators, guides, hotels, motels etc. The Ministry of Tourism had unveiled the said code of conduct in line with similar code of ethics for tourism being propagated by the world bodies like UNWTO on 1 July 2010.
