Chhattisgarh Tourism Board is extensively promoting Mainpat, Chhattisgarh's only hill station as its latest happening destination. Often referred to as 'Shimla of central India', Mainpat is a picturesque hill station located close to Bilaspur.

Bastar, Bilaspur and Raipur are well known among the tourists, but Mainpat is still an unexplored destination.

Mainpat has a large number of migrant Tibetans who settled here after the Dalai Lama and his followers came to India. The destination offers many picturesque waterfalls, the Bandarkot, Rakamada caves and many Tibetan monasteries.
