Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ajit Singh, has assured Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Prithviraj Chavan that the Centre will take on fast track the necessary clearances required for building Navi Mumbai International Airport. Chavan had met Singh in New Delhi today.
Singh informed that the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) has to look into the legal aspects including the bid document, contractual liabilities, infrastructural and environmental issues etc. before giving go ahead to the project.
He added that the Centre is aware of the progress made towards the project by the Maharashtra Government on environmental clearance, shifting of EHV transmission lines, rehabilitation and resettlement of affected people, connectivity, land development scheme and land acquisition.
