Best Western hotels to focus on tier II, III Indian cities

The hotel chain plans to open another 50 hotels by 2017 and will be looking to create nearly 5000 jobs and an investment of approximately Rs 25-30 lakh per key

Mid-market US hotel chain Best Western has added eight new hotels to its existing 44 hotels in the country. This brings the brand's keys to 2600 across various star segments in India.

Hotels that have been signed and are under the final stages of pre-opening and conversion include five mid-market properties in Punjab and three operational hotels Bangalore.

The hospitality brand also shifted its corporate office from Bangalore to Delhi this month. Sudhir Sinha president and COO of Best Western India told ET the brand will concentrate on tier-II and III cities in North India.
