Bangkok Airways has started its first India operations by connecting Bangkok with Mumbai through six flights per week by Airbus A319 serving 12 in Business Class and 108 in Economy Class.
To celebrate the new route, the airline is offering a promotional round-trip airfare, for travel by 31 March 2011, of 5,590 Baht (exclusive of airport taxes, insurance and fuel surcharge).
Between 2 - 26 March 2011, PG733 Bangkok-Mumbai departs Bangkok at 22:20 to arrive in Mumbai at 01:05. The return flight (no service on Wednesdays), PG734 Mumbai-Bangkok leaves Mumbai at 01:55 to arrive in Bangkok at 07:50.
From 27 March 2011 onwards, PG733 Bangkok-Mumbai departs Bangkok at 21:40 to arrive in Mumbai at 00:25. Coming back from Mumbai, PG734 Mumbai-Bangkok leaves Mumbai at 01:05 to arrive in Bangkok at 06:50.
Bangkok Airways president Puttipong Prasarttong-Osotsaid, 'Demands are there and we realised that there is still plenty of room to be filled in terms of seat capacity,'. According to him, the airline expects to carry an average of 60 percent capacity-load factor.
'The opening of Bangkok-Mumbai on March 2 and Bangkok-Dhaka on March 27 is part of the airline's 2011 expansion strategy,' the company said in a statement.
