Bangkok Airways plans to start flights to India next summer

Looks forwards to connect two cities, appointing GSA and enter IATA-BSP

Bangkok-based Full Service Carrier, Bangkok Airways is planning to start Indian operations by connecting two cities in summer next year. The airline is evaluating cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.

the airline is also looking at appointing a General Sales Agent (GSA) for the Indian market and enter IATA-BSP. The airline has already invited bids for GSA and will finalise the same by end of September 2010. The airline currently has 18 aircraft comprising A319, A320 and ATR’s with operations to eight domestic destinations and seven international destinations. With Bangkok as the hub, the airline flies to Chiang Mai, Krabi, Lampang, Pattaya, Koh Samui, Sukhothai, and Trat and international destinations like Hong Kong, Luang Prabang (Laos), Male (Maldives), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Singapore and Yangon (Myanmar).
