After the successful effort by the Indian Army, Nathula Pass, the trading post between China and India has been reopened for traffic after hit by the September 18 earthquake that occurred in North-East India, Nepal and Tibet.

Locals are happy over the reopening of the pass. They expressed their happiness and praised army personnel for helping them this moment of crisis and providing them with food and medical treatment. After road being reopened the public is now getting the basic facilities and food.

Now the locals want tourists to arrive as their living hood is based on tourism. The earthquake has stopped the flow of tourists. The festive season of Durga Puja to Diwali normally see a huge amount of tourist flow but this year it seems that the situation in the state is still not normal and landslides and bad weather has prevented tourists to make bookings.
