The tourism industry in Andhra Pradesh has been hit due to the 'impression' of a law and order problem in the Telangana region, a senior Andhra Pradesh tourism official said Thursday.
'In a political agitation, there are two components - one is the law and order component and the other one is political. Telangana is a larger political issue but it is not a major law and order problem. But what happens is even if there is no law and order problem, there is an impression that there is lot of problem which having an impact,' said Sandeep Kumar Sultania, vice-chairman and managing director, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC).
'I can assure you that for Telangana, there is no law and order problem. Nobody should be apprehensive. It is an impression which is affecting more than the fact. People can come and roam freely they should not be apprehensive about the political movement,' said Sultania.
The Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh has been on boil for last one year on the issue of the demand for a separate state.
