Airlines not perpetrators of fake pilots scam: Mills

Airlines are not the perpetrators but the victims of the fake pilots scam, SpiceJet CEO Neil Mills today said as he urged the DGCA to put its house in order to prevent such forgeries in future as per a PTI report.

"We are a victim of the entire episode (of pilot scam). We are not the perpetrators," said 756Mills told reporters.

He said it was the aviation regulator's responsibility to verify pilot's documents before giving them the licences.

The DGCA should put "its house in order", Mills said when asked what should be done to check such things from happening in the future.

Delhi Police, which has been handed over the probe in the case, has so far arrested a total of 22 people of which there were 12 pilots, three DGCA officials, three middleman and two forgers.
