Air India has decided to waive the handling charges on the arms and ammunition carried by shooters travelling for competition in both its domestic and international flights.
Air India's handling charges for carriage of arms and ammunition stands at Rs 5000 plus taxes in the domestic sector and USD 100 (or equivalent amount) plus taxes for international flights.
But it has waived off the charges on shooters. "Sportsman travelling either domestic or International for a competition or representing the country are exempted from payment of handling charges," Air India said in a statement.
