Air India operates more flights to Japan, carries 25 tonnes of relief material

Also waives off charges for re-booking, cancellations and refunds on all types of tickets for travel from and to Japan up to March 31

Amidst rising concerns of a nuclear crisis in Japan, national carrier Air India has deployed a bigger Boeing 747 aircraft with 423 seats, to help bring back Indians stuck there.

The airline has scheduled operations of this bigger jet till March 21, 2011. In addition, Air India has also decided to waive off charges for re-booking, cancellations and refunds on all types of tickets for travel from and to Japan up to March 31, 2011.

Just a couple of days back, the national carrier also carried 25 tonnes of relief material, in two consignments each of 10,000 high quality blankets, to the quake-hit nation.
