Kalpesh Panara, a travel agent named in multiple cheating cases, was arrested by Navrangpura police officials from CG Road on Friday night. Panara had come to meet an associate when officials nabbed him on the basis of a tip-off as per a report in Times of India.
According to Navrangpura police officials, Panara, owner of Make My Holiday Tours & Travels in Navrangpura, was accused of not providing the promised arrangements at various travel destinations including Goa, Kerala and Mahabaleshwar by several tourists during Diwali holidays and had demanded refund of the amount charged by Panara's firm. Panara, however, fled from the city after complaints were registered against him.
P M Sarvaiya, inspector of Navrangpura police station, told TOI that Panara was arrested for the cheating charges against him. "He said that he was duped by the service providers in other states and thus he was not able to provide the promised services to tourists. We have sought details of his transactions," he said.
