Adequate security arrangements have been made for Amarnath yatra to ensure secure and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage, Jammu and Kashmir police chief said.
"Sufficient manpower has been equipped with requisite logistics to conduct the yatra in a befitting manner," state Director General of Police (DGP) Kuldeep Khoda said while addressing a security review meeting here yesterday.
Apart from the deployment of more than 700 personnel from the local police, 36 companies of the CRPF and BSF will also be deployed for the security of the route to the cave shrine in south Kashmir, he said.
Searching of vehicles and baggage will be done at various locations enroute to the cave, the DGP said.
