World Green Tourism Abu Dhabi, the first-of-its-kind initiative by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority to be held in Arabian Gulf, is said to provide a platform for leaders to evaluate responsible investment in the field of tourism and hospitality.
To be held from November 22 – 24, 2010 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the World Green Tourism Abu Dhabi is already striking chord with the biggies in the tourism and hospitality industry.
As part of its classification system in line with the green rating system issued by the Urban Planning Council, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority aims to issue a green rating to all of the emirate's hotels and hotel apartments by 2011.
“This is a great opportunity for key leaders in hospitality and tourism to meet and discuss the challenges facing the industry and how 'green' initiatives can be integrated into our future business,” said Thierry Bertin, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Hyatt International, South West Asia.
“Any opportunity that provides a platform for industry executives to get together and debate, discuss how we can form, implement and promote a greener society in line with the vision of the Abu Dhabi government on sustainable practices is always a good thing as it will help shape the future of the hospitality and tourism industries,” added Bertin.
